    AGE REQUIREMENT

    5 years of age and older can participate. Children below the age of 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult in the equipment to participate. A waiver must be signed on behalf of the child by the parental guardian.

    WEIGHT CAPACITY

    192 kg / 425 lbs per kayak.
    115 kg / 253 lbs per paddleboard
    110 kg / 242 lbs per waterbike

    TOUR OPTIONS

    We do not offer guided tours. All rentals are self-guided.

    PADDLE LESSONS

    Paddle lessons are available upon request.

    ORIENTATION & SAFETY POLICY

    We are committed to the Health & Safety of all participants. A 10-minute safety orientation will begin at the start of your reservation. This orientation is mandatory for all participants and is part of your time-slot.

    WAIVER

    A waiver must be completed by all participants prior to arrival. Please note, a government issued I.D. is required for check-in. Participants under the age of 18 years old must have a parental guardian complete the waiver on their behalf.

    WHAT TO BRING

    Be prepared to get wet! Bring appropriate clothing or a change of clothes. Clothing items to consider - extra pants/shorts, waterproof shoes, sandals, a hat & sunscreen. You may bring your personal items with you in the kayak. You may also leave them on site, however we are not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen items.

    EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE PROTOCOLS

    All equipment and items are inspected and cleaned between each use. Hand sanitizer and wipes are provided to guests upon request.

    PET POLICY

    Small pets are permitted on our equipment. We do not provide PFDs for pets.

    RESCHEDULING POLICY

    We have a 24-hour rescheduling policy. To reschedule your reservation, please click the link in your booking confirmation email to choose another date. Alternatively, you can reply to your booking confirmation email with the request to reschedule. Please note, you will not be able to reschedule within 24-hours of your reservation and you will not be entitled to a refund.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. To cancel your reservation please send an email in reply to your booking confirmation email. Please include your reservation details. You must provide at least 24-hours notice to receive a full refund. You will not receive a refund if a cancellation is made within 24-hours of your reservation.

    WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY

    We have a weather cancellation policy. If the weather conditions are not ideal such as rainfall, lightening, thunderstorm, high wind speed (above 20km/hr), or the water conditions are not ideal such as choppy, polluted water, or high waves, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation for your safety. All customers will be notified at least 2-hours before their scheduled reservation via email. Please note, all weather cancellations will be rescheduled or fully refunded.

    TRANSFERING A RESERVATION

    We allow customers the flexibility to transfer their bookings to other parties. Please respond to your booking confirmation email or contact us via phone/email to transfer your booking to another person.

    LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

    Please plan to arrive on time. If you are more than 30 minutes late for your reservation, Illuminated Escapes reserves the right to cancel your reservation and you will not be entitled to a refund.

    LATE RETURN POLICY

    If you return late from your reservation timeslot (greater than 15-minutes) you will incur a late fee of $10.00 per every 15-minute interval. This is strictly enforced by Illuminated Escapes as it jeopardizes another customer's excursion.

    DRUGS & ALCOHOL POLICY

    We strictly prohibit the operation of equipment rentals under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. We prioritize the well-being of our staff and guests, therefore we reserve the right to immediately cancel the reservation of any individual found to be under the influence, with no refund provided.

    LOST OR STOLEN GOODS POLICY

    We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items belonging to customers.

    DAMAGE POLICY

    We reserve the right to charge and hold liable customers for any damages made to our equipment or property. A hold on a customer’s credit card during payment and will be placed prior to their operation of our equipment. Customers may be charged up to the maximum amount of $200.00 for damaged equipment. Should the equipment be lost or stolen while left unattended, the customer will be responsible for replacement costs at full retail prices.
